REGISTRATION QUESTIONS
May I sign up for less than three full days of the conference?
Yes, passes for a single day of classes are now available. Register now.

May I add an extra class on Friday since there are four sessions?
No. Given our goal of keeping class sizes small, we can offer only three classes per day.

Should I select the beginner track or the intermediate track?
Our general guideline for deciding which track is best for you is based upon how long you have been studying yoga. However, intermediate students should be practicing Sirsasana (headstand). If you have been studying for more than one year and have not progressed to practicing Sirsasana then we recommend that you select the beginner track.

Is there any discount for volunteering?
No. Our conference is being run on the energy of the volunteers. Your compensation for volunteering will be a well-run, fun conference, new friends, a deepened sense of community and the satisfaction of having made something wonderful happen.

Can I cancel my reservation?
You may cancel your reservation to free up spaces for others. Please note, however, that the date for receiving a refund for cancellations, Sept. 15, 2009, has passed.

Can I change my class selections?
As of Sept. 15, 2009, the ability to change class selections has ended in order to give the registration committee time to prepare and finalize conference materials.

ON-SITE QUESTIONS
Are meals included?
Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided at the opening reception on Friday evening. Meals at the conference are not included. However, there is no shortage of great restaurants for all budgets in Providence, especially in the downtown area.

Do I need to bring my own yoga props?
We strongly suggest that you bring a yoga mat, three blankets, two blocks, an eye wrap, and a belt. Make sure you mark your props so that you can identify them. Some of these items may also be available for sale on-site during limited marketplace hours but not in time the first asana class on Friday.

How will I check in on the day of the conference?
Upon arrival at the Rhode Island Convention Center, you will need to stop at the registration tables where you can pick up your badge and conference materials, including complete schedules and classroom locations. Your name badge will allow you admission to all of your pre-registered events.

Is parking available?
Parking is available at the Rhode Island Convention Center’s parking garage. Parking is available at the rate of $10 per day or $18 overnight. You may purchase passes at the convention center.

What is Iyengar Yoga?
Iyengar Yoga, one of the world’s most widely-practiced forms, emphasizes correct alignment of all parts of the body within each yoga asana (posture). This precision of approach builds strength and stamina, balance and flexibility, and a new sense of well-being. Achieving meditation in action, the practitioner learns to exist fully and vibrantly in the present moment.

What is IYNAUS?
IYNAUS, the Iyengar Yoga Association of the US, is committed to disseminate and promote the art, science and philosophy of yoga according to the teachings of BKS Iyengar and his family. The Association oversees teacher training guidelines, holds annual certification assessments, and maintains a code of ethics for its teachers. IYNAUS also produces a bi-annual newsletter, imports and sells Iyengar yoga publications and products from India, sponsors workshops and conventions, and maintains an archive of Iyengar yoga materials and a national directory of Certified Teachers.
